TOMS Shoes

In class we had talked about social entrepreneurship and some different examples of them. To me, social entrepreneurship is a situation realized by someone and they entrepreneurially try to change/fix the problem at hand. It was interesting when we saw a video clip on "TOMS Shoes". The part that amazed me the most was how a man went on a trip just to have an adventure and came out creating a business out of what he saw. (Omoikhosen A. Edgal)

  2. Many people think that and entrepreneurial only focus on making and creating enterprises but, that's not everything. An entrepreneurial is a person who identifies a chance to change something and find the way to make it possible.

There’s a kind of entrepreneurship focused on society issues and doesn’t leave social needs in hands of government or business. They find out that making a good idea real is the best way to change everybody’s life (in many cases, people with disadvantage life).

Another examples of real entrepreneurs are Andrea and Barry Coleman ( they provided motorcycles to doctors, so they can help people faster) and John Wood (he create a program to take books to children who don’t have any access to books). These, as many others, are really inspiring stories which teach us that there are not small dreams but, real reasons to struggle to get the best knowing that we are human beings and we must help each other.

  3. I agree with Lira it does not always have to be strictly a business proposition but rather that someone wants to help out on a bigger scale. someone may realize that they have an idea that could help out many people but by themselves not be able to fully accomplish this goal. it is then when the entrepuner realizes that he/she will start the buiness or process used to further accomplish what they want to do.
